Recently, I’ve started adding Protein Powder into my oats, because I’m finding (especially after training) that even 1 cup of oats, with toppings doesn’t really fill me up. So, I add a scoop of Protein Powder, to help curb my hunger throughout the morning.
I have always cooked my oats on the stove top, but there is the option of the microwave as well.
Stove Top Method:
1. Simply add double the amount of liquid to the amount of oats to a small saucepan, (e.g. ½ cup oats = 1 cup water), and allow to cook on a low heat
2. When the liquid is almost evaporated, and your oats are cooked, stir through your powders. (You may need to add a bit more water if needed).
3. Transfer oats to a bowl and top with blueberries.
Microwave Method:
1. Simply add double the amount of liquid to the amount of oats to a large bowl (so it doesn’t overfill), and microwave for 1 minute.
2. Stir the oats after 1 minute, and microwave again for another minute. Make sure you watch them to ensure they don’t overflow (hence why you need a big container)
3. Add in the powders (and more liquid if necessary)
4. Top with frozen berries.
TIP: Peanut Butter and Chocolate is one of my all time favourite combinations, so feel free to add a scoop of Natural Peanut Butter on top
