Andrea's Story

“I struggled a lot in my life before I found fitness. All my life i was skinny fat, living on junk food, trying all the fad diets you can think of, exhausted and had an obsession with body image. What made it worse was I came from an Asian heritage where being skinny is beautiful. This eventually took a toll on my health. My transformation is from being unhappy and unhealthy to being strong, confident and full of life.

"Being part of the Maxine's team allows me to share my journey, motivate other women around the world which i have set out to do. We get to connect, encourage each other like we're part of a fitness family. I think that’s so important having a great support system and community to share ideas and help each other.   • “I use to dread going to the gym, thinking what any new gym goer would freak about—OMG people will look at me, judge me, make fun of me, OMG am I doing it right? How many reps do I do? Is my form even right?
  • “All these questions did not deter me from my goal because my hunger for change was an appetite of a beast. I strip away my fear, my low self-esteem, my shyness (yes I am an introvert who acts as an extrovert) to really get down to opening up my mouth and mind to the world of fitness. I would ask around fitness guru’s, instructors, sit down with highly motivated individuals, take down every single shred of knowledge, read articles and thesis online to gain more information.
  • “Fitness gave me a whole new perspective of what life is really about. Dedication, hard work, perseverance, and earning long term gratification. It taught me confidence, how to love myself and most importantly take care of this one vessel that I am blessed with. I even climbed Mount Kinabalu which I never thought I’d do in a million years! Through my knowledge of nutrition and training I have changed my life for the better and I would say it has been the best decision of my life and I am where I want to be right now.
  • “My vision is to create a fitter more active Malaysia community by bringing people and fitness closer together. Therefore, I have set out on the next chapter of my life to share my knowledge with and be able to help transform people’s lives be it being stronger, fitter more confident lifestyle."
